There are a total of 20 teams in the Brazilian Second Division. The competition is based on a double-round scoring system. The point calculation method is that the winner of each game gets 3 points, the loser gets no points, and the two teams get 1 point each for the draw. In the end, it is decided by the number of points. If the points are the same, the ranking will be distinguished by the number of games won, goal difference, goals scored and match results. The top 4 teams will directly advance to the first division next season, while the bottom 4 teams will be relegated.
