At the beginning stage, there are 18 teams participating in the competition. The single round robin system is adopted. The winner gets 3 points, the loser gets no points, and the draw gets 1 point. The order of the same score is determined by the goal difference, the number of goals, the result of the match, and the goal of the guest. The top 12 teams in the initial stage will enter the playoffs. The tournament is a host and guest two-round competition, and the guest goal preference is calculated for the final eight and semi-final two-round matches. If the winner still cannot be determined, the team with higher ranking in the league will be promoted, and the guest goal preference will not be calculated for the final. If the total score of the two rounds is tied, a 30-minute overtime will be carried out, and if the overtime is still tied, the penalty will be determined. At the end of the play-off, the team that enters the final will be eligible to participate in the next season's Central American Champions League.
